I spent a lot of time during my recent vacation learning to give myself permission to rest and not “do.” It took me about two and a half weeks to give myself permission to stay in bed for as long as I wanted allowing my mind to just go where it wanted to. That is when I began to think about the theme of renewal and rejuvenation in my life.
The dictionary defines rejuvenation as “to make youthful again and “renew” to make new” and both “to restore to an original or a new state.” What would it take to restore that state of aliveness and vitality again in my body, in my being, in my life?
What was I really feeling authentically in my relationship with myself, my body and my health? How did I go through my life on a daily basis? What were the structures I had created in my life and were they serving me?
When you are presented with a challenge – whether physical or otherwise, it is a call for change and growth. Are you willing to take on the challenge? How can you initiate a process of renewal and rejuvenation?
How many of us can claim as we woke up this morning and moved into our daily routine, that we are experiencing a sense of aliveness, vigor and energy? Do you feel you are seeing and “creating your world brand new?”
A movie script is written in a three-act structure and many of us are entering the second or third acts of our lives. I used to do a workshop called “Your Life is a Movie”; looking at your life as a movie and consciously connecting to your power to create your life as an “act of deliberate creation”.
If we are conscious creators, then as we look at our lives and we take that moment to evaluate, to look at our relationships and how you we are living. Here are some questions we might ask ourselves:
What is it that I would like to create in this next stage of my life?
How I can consciously begin anew?
How can I recreate the feeling of “newness”, vitality, passion and energy that I once felt?
How can I restore whatever isn’t working in my life to wholeness and harmony again?
